David’s most recent film, TWO WORDS, premiered at the Los Angeles Outfest Film festival in the Summer of 2018 and has since been recognized with numerous awards both in the US and abroad. Directed by Jesper Emborg, and featuring masterful performances by Henry Goodman and Sophia Myles, TWO WORDS is a dramatic account of grief and self-realization, when a 64-year old father reveals to his grown-up daughter, that he's been living a lie during his 35 years of marriage and now intends to be true to himself.
JACOB STONE tells the story of an inner-city high school athlete (Nicholas Alexander) with a bright future who is forced to re-examine his life when a mistake from his past resurfaces. Written by David Blacker, the short film sheds light on the importance of second chances and redemption, as Jacob mends the broken bond between himself and his incarcerated brother Elton (Deon Lucas).
The film first captivated audiences earlier this year with its world premiere at the San Diego Black Film Festival. Since then, it has screened as an ‘Official Selection’ at numerous festivals, winning ‘Best Drama’ at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards (LAIFFA) as well as 'Best U.S. Short Film' at the Laughlin International Film Festival. The film also screened as an ‘Official Selection’ at the 2015 Burbank International Film Festival, where it earned a nomination in the ‘Best Short’ category. Most recently, the film won the Audience Award for best U.S. short at the prestigious Catalina Film Festival.
